Guardians 5

As the cleanup continues at Area 15 plumes of smoke arise at military bases across the world as a mysterious death ray extinguishes the defensive capabilities of nations across the globe.  American analysts identify the ray’s point of origin:  Copernicus Crater on the Moon.  The Guardians and BADGE scramble to put their space worthy ships into flight but are concerned that they may not be able to send enough forces to take down the alien enemy.

Help comes from an unlikely place in Billionairess Ophelia Windfree.  In addition to her media assets she also owns Windfree Ballistics, a weapons and aerospace firm that works with cutting edge technology.  Her WB currently has an experimental orbital ready for its first test flight.  The craft could make the journey to the moon and provide valuable reinforcements for the efforts to destroy the moon base.

Though the offer is received as good news, the Guardians are acutely aware that Windfree’s former head of research was Ephraim Moline, better known as the evil Mechanic.  Obviously, this will be a race against time to beat the Syndicate to the orbiter and stop whatever plan they have in mind for it…

                            

                                                     

                                                               

                                        

                                                  

In the secluded headquarters of Windfree Ballistics the Guardians and Syndicate battled to see who would be able to take the WB’s experimental orbiter.   Fearing for her Billionairess Ophelia Windfree’s safety, the heroic Archangel rescued her from apparent doom.  Not so lucky was the Windfree Ballistics campus which took extensive damage from a number of thrown cars and a shattered hanger courtesy of Gauntlet.  The pitched battle showed no clear victor.  With the possibility of the Syndicate still able to take control of the experimental ship, Windfree herself activated the ship’s self destruct mechanism, allowing neither hero nor villain to fly away with the prize.

Hours later on the moon, alien sensors detect two pairs of ships approaching from different directions.  The Guardians of Justice and the New World Syndicate are on their way to Copernicus Crater.  The final fate of the world hangs in the balance…
